Most SEO tools stop at a report. OnPage Agent goes further: it applies the fixes on your WordPress site. That’s the whole point, and it’s also the part that needs the most care. Here is how we make sure nothing it does is permanent unless you want it to be.
Every change is recorded before it’s applied
When the agent changes a title, adds a link or updates a section, the WordPress plugin first stores exactly what was there before. Not a copy of the whole page: the precise piece that’s about to change. That record sits in the change log next to the new version, so you can see the before and after for every edit.
Rollback undoes one change, not everything
Pages get edited by many hands: you, your team and the agent. A naive undo that restores the whole page would wipe out everyone else’s work. Our rollback restores only the fragment that change touched. If you’ve since edited the same sentence yourself, the plugin tells you about the conflict instead of overwriting your edit.
WordPress keeps its normal revisions too, so you always have a second safety net.
Nothing goes live without permission
How much the agent can do on its own is your call:
- Suggest: every change waits for your approval.
- Autopilot: low-risk fixes like alt text, broken links and descriptions go live on their own; bigger changes wait.
- Autonomous: the agent works inside the guardrails you set, including weekly page limits and protected pages it never touches.
You can stop it instantly
The plugin has a pause switch in WordPress settings. While paused, it refuses every change, from anyone. Requests to your site are also signed and expire after five minutes, so nobody else can send changes pretending to be us.
Why this matters
SEO work is mostly small changes made consistently. That only works if you’re comfortable letting the small changes happen. Making every change visible and reversible is how we earn that trust, and it’s why rollback is included on every plan.
